Edom Art Fair at the Tyler Museum of Art Returns to the TMA Grounds Saturday and Sunday, May 1516, 2004 Enjoy a wide variety of the finest arts and crafts in East Texas as we host the 31st annual Edom Art Fair at the Tyler Museum of Art! This will be the 5th year that this well-recognized art fair has been held at the Museum. Over sixty artists will be displaying and selling such art as ceramics, jewelry, textiles, paintings, and more. Due to popular demand, this year's Edom Art Fair at the Tyler Museum of Art is returning to the great outdoors! The TMA parking lot and grounds will again be transformed into a fantastic bazaar of art treasures and shady spots to relax and enjoy tasty snacks and refreshments. The Tyler Museum of Art's partnership with the Edom Craft Community has enabled the Museum to present a different kind of art experience to the community and has strengthened our ties to the many talented artists who call East Texas home. Admission fees collected at the event have provided another important source of funding for TMA programs and exhibitions. Admission is only $5 and children 12 and under are FREE. Katie Hudson serves as General Chair for this year’s 2004 Edom Art Fair Committee. The rest of the Committee is made up by Brenda Cameron who is taking care of Admissions, Tru Magruder who is in charge of Hospitality, and Vivian Steinmann who is organizing the Artists Party. Each year the Peaches Best of Show Award is presented to the two artists whose work is voted most outstanding by the artists participating in the Fair. Last year's Peaches Best of Show Award went to Toby McGee and V. Chinookoswong. The award, named in honor of the late Peaches Brookshire of Tyler, is underwritten this year by Tim and Michelle Brookshire. The Pat Oge Award is given each year to the artist with the best booth display and is voted on by the TMA staff. Last year's Pat Oge Award was presented to Lisa and Cecil McKenzie. Named for the late Pat Oge, an artist as well as an enthusiastic Museum supporter, this award is underwritten by George Oge.
